My Sony CHC-CL5MD just went bust, when i plug it in it is in standby and it wont power on with the power button, and I dont really have the cash to buy a new CD player / radio.

All i really used it for of late was as a radio and to play music off my laptop.

Anyways, to the point! I was wondering if I could instead use a laptop that I don't use as a source, and buy a cheap amp to hook up to the speakers I already have. If that's the case, can someone recommend a cheap amp to get for this purpose?

The speakers are 6 ohm impedance.

The other alternative is to buy new really cheap mini hi-fi, again any recommendations would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Truckle
