    Current setup :
Media center PC, dual tuner PCI card, UPC Analog. Sweet as - EPG, PVR all working fine. Except that BBC2 is unwatchable, apparently cos of the frequency being too close to that of DAB from treerock.

The solution from Chorus is to move me to Digital. I do not want to lose the functionality I have currently. So the question; if I get a digital-cable dual tuner card will it work with UPC to retain the functionality I have? I don't care about the Pay-Per-View channels, I just want the 'regular' ones - like I currently have. I don't want the Thomson or Pace PVR boxes (I worked on them, so I know the 'quality') - I just want to be able to plug me PC straight into the wall like I do now. Is this possible?

Otherwise I'm sticking with analog, minus BBC2.

Or; does the analog signal still come through on the same frequencies alongside the digital signal, so I can continue to watch all the stations I currently have via the PC, and BBC2 via the Digibox?

No. There is NO legal way of using a feed from UPC without using their STB. Just a heads up, talk of DVB-C cards here will either get this thread locked and/or the person banned.

I feel your pain, as do many others. So far, the only legal way of doing this is to get something like a Magic Eye / Infrared transmitter. Connect it between your HTPC and UPC STB. The HTPC will then send signals to the STB to change channels at set times.

One STB per "tuner", if you get me.

Really don't want to have to go down the IRBlaster route; as long as I can also retain the analog signal whilst I have the digibox (which I believe I can) I can leave the HTPC as is (and use this primarily) whilst using the digibox purely for BBC2 straight to the TV, and occasionally for watching something else if I have a double-tuner conflict on the HTPC.

The analogue feed and digital feed are on the same cable together.

If you move to digital to get BBC2, then the only why to get BBC2 on your HTPC is with a s-video/composite TV tuner card which takes the feed from a STB. You can have different cards/sources in your HTPC if you are running Vista with TVPack or Win7, meaning you can still use analogue and have digital too. Windows Media Center has a IR blaster and receiver which changes the changes for you on the STB.

One other option is to put up a satellite dish and then the cable from that can plus into a dvb-s card and you get all the FTA channels inclusing ITVHD and BBCHD. And it does not require a STB to work with your HTPC. Bit overkill, but it will solve you problem and it gives a fantastic picture.
