London taxpayers have to pay more than $8,200 for the case of a film maker accused of stealing .003 pence in electricity, a magistrates court said.

Mark Guard, 44, appeared at two separate hearings in North London before the charge was dropped and the cost added up to $8,200, The Daily Mail reported Wednesday.

Guard was making a documentary about crime and the homeless. He filmed squatters entering an empty building through an open window on Aug. 1. A movement sensor in the building was triggered. When the squatters fled, Guard, a former electrician, decided to remain and turn off the alarm because the noise would disturb neighboring families.

To see the alarm switch, Guard had to turn on the electricity in the building for a few seconds.
When police arrived he told them what he had done and was arrested for stealing the electricity.
He offered to pay for the electricity, but the electric company wouldn't bother collecting such a tiny sum, the report said.

Web Site Error, Offers Grill To Cook Babies

On Thursday, the Web site for the department store Sears had a gruesome sales pitch. It offered a grill to cook babies and roast their body parts. TMZ.com was the first to report about this goof.

The grill was listed on the Sears website under the category of "human cooking > Grills to Cook Babies and More > Body Part Roaster." This was done by a mischievous customer. When this was discovered, it was quickly changed.

Sears said they were victimized by somebody visiting the Web site who defaced a limited number of product pages. Sears has already taken steps against this from happening again.

Chihuahua With Pink Earrings Stolen at a Gay Bar by Man With Britney Spears Tattoo

Florida: Police have identified a suspect and are waiting on a warrant decision from the Broward State Attorney's Office in the case of a stolen chihuahua belonging to 48-year-old Brian Dortort.

Dortort allowed a man with a Britney Spears tattoo to hold his dog with pink earrings at a birthday function held at a gay bar when the man, the dog, and the specialty pet bag he was in went missing.

Dortort has been searching for the puppy for some weeks now.
