    Is it my imagination, or are some people dropping the letter 's' off Maths :cool:

    Possibly an 'Americanism' thats beginning to seep into UK/Hiberno English?

    Annoys the hell out of me!

    I don't think this phrase ever existed on this side of the water (I don't recall ever hearing the phrase barring on American TV), we abbreviate mathematics to "maths" and they abbreviate it to "math". I think it sounds fine, to be honest (accepting it as an American import).

    Did you ever ask someone from the North to pronounce it? "Maaatthhzzzz", now that's jarring!

    It's in response to our use of the word "Accommodation" they call it "Accommodations" so it's 15 all on that one;)

    PIsses me off when my spell cheker tells me the correct spelling is wrong.
    Had a boss years ago tell me to improve my spelling in correspondance!Wankers.
