I was reading about this online that people under 26 have free entry to the permanent exhibitions in many galleries and museums in Paris. Is there any catch and is it up to and including 26 year olds or under 26(I'm 26 myself and want to make sure)? Will save me quite a bit of money over there. I'm mainly going for galleries and museums.

    Thanks

I was in Paris in June and we got into everywhere (The Louvre, Versailles palace, the Arc de Triopme, etc.) for free once we showed our passports (we're 18, and of course, EU citizens). It was great, saved us a bomb! The only thing we payed for was to go up the Eiffel Tower.

However, whether its under 26, or 26 on the button I'm not too sure, sorry.

I still can't find any definitive info on whether the age is upto and including 26year olds or under 26. Have any 26 year olds been refused entry to museums?

Is the Museum Pass the only real alternative to buy if I want to visit several museums?

    Thanks

The offer is only available to those who are under 26 years of age "moins de 26 ans" but you can always chance it and say you didn't know any better.

The museums concerned are : Louvre, Orsay, Picasso, Marine museum, Arc de Triomphe, Pantheon.

I guess you need to work out the price of each museum you'd like to visit and see if the Pass is worth buying or not.

Thanks. It's a bit of a nuisance being 1 yr too old, though I will ask at a museum before I buy the pass. And Pass isn't too bad at €32 for 2 days with no queueing. Considering The Louvre costs €9 for an adult with others at similar prices.
