Can anyone recommend a good '05 car/van for a daily 100 mile commute i.e good mpg low tax/insurance/maintenance costs.

Transit Connect/Caddy/Berlingo sized vans are going for a pittance second hand at the moment.

    why 05?

Because of my budget I can only go to '05 in anything I've looked at so far (Carolla diesel, Mazda 3 diesel) I only started looking last week.

Whats your budget? It'll be easier to reccommend something as prices vary a lot per year

Any recommendations for things to look out for in these Vans.
what makes are the best in terms of quality and then value.
    what mileage is too much?
What things make a van more expensive for eg: High roof, engine size ets?
    What will make insurance cheaper?

    thanks.
