Stickies

Some of you might have noticed that all of teh stickies that used to be at the top have gone. Instead there is an Index thread with links to teh important threads.

I did this because we had too many stickies and teh criteria for sticking wasn't that clear. This way we can have a bigger index (things that wouldn't have been stickied can be added) without it clogging up the top of the screen.

The well trafficked threads will always be in or around teh first page anyway and the index is really for those threads that are important but low volume (eg Links) and that would drop down into the depths never to be seen again without a perm redirect.

We can also temp stickie stuff - if there is a big event (eg an end of year beers) then we can temp stick it.

However not everyone thinks it's a good idea, it takes more clicks to get to each thread and some stuff is hidden in an index rather than being in full view.

Now most of you probably don't care but in order to keep everyone happy we'll let you lot decide if we keep the new structure or go back to the old.

*Sigh* democracy :) A great way to avoid making decisions!

I'm giving a thumbs up to the new way. As was said, it was becoming ambiguous as to the exact criteria required to merit a sticky thread (not a huge problem).

This way is a lot tidier, and at least there's a one stop shop where everyone can find all info that isn't needed/viewed daily and doesn't need to be on display as its own sticky on the main forum.

We can always review it if after a while should that extra click prove too strenuous :p.
