    Hmmm… lunch.

The places around the park that I can think of -
The Boathouse restaurant Farmliegh. Never been, but it's in a nice spot :) Possibly romantic!
The Tea House in the park - good for a sambo & a cake. Not very rosemantic!
    Nancy Hands - pub carvery
Ryans - nice food, but only does lunch on Thurs & Fridays I think?
    IMMA - It's a bagel
Hole in the wall - haven't eaten here in years. I think it's quite restaurant-ey

I'm sure there must be something in Chapelizod & Castleknock too. Not that familiar with that side of the park myself.

    HTH!

The restaurant/cafe connected to the visitor centre does lovely food , highly reccomend it. Go upstairs it's quiet enough and really very nice. Now romantic , not sure , but the walled garden next door is lovely for a walk around afterwards.

However if you have kids beware they don't do any kiddy food , which is a bit strange considering there is a huge playground next to it.

    Lots of options available alright.

    Knockmaroon Hill Gate:
Talk a walk down to the Angler's Rest
Taken back by Wrights of Howth (after a number of years sub let to another outfit)
If you like fish go there

    Castleknock Gate:
Trentunos - Nice Italian with reasonable prices.
Akasaka - Japanese place - nice sushi (different lunch option)
    Myos for pub grub

    Ashtown Gate
Halfway house is about all I can think of - nice carvery etc...

    or possible the best option...

Check when the Farmleigh Farmers Market is on and then gorge on a pletheroh (sp) of breads, meats, cheeses etc.... everything you could want for a nice park lunch

Would recommend all of the above but Farmers Market @ Farmleigh is the most fun.
Next best is Anglers Rest (for me anyway)

    Hope this helps
