Would you stay with people you know, or ditch your loved ones?

When answering this question I want you to provide a reason why, would be interesting to see people's perspectives.

In my case, I'd ditch anyone I know, both for the sake of my sanity :P, and also the fact that I don't think I could deal with someone I know slowly dying before my eyes, and then having to kill them before they turned against me.

What about you, what would you do>

Well i'd stay with people i know and try to group with other survivors aswell. Being alone in a zombie outbreak is the last thing you'd want.

Also you have a better chance of getting away from the zombies if they chase you. You just have to run faster than anyone else:P

Haha, knock everyone else down as you're running away.

shoudl have elaborated, what I mean is leaving people you care about to work with people you don't know, or going by yourself to rambo it up. Or else stick with your loved ones and fight together :P

I'd stick with my wife. We have a contingency plan for such an event, or should i say i have made a plan and she has agreed to stick with me and not slow me down and possibly, if it came to it, throw herself in front of a zombie to save me.

I'd keep a small group of people that i trust. Direct family members, assuming any of them survive the initial outbreak, and any of my closer friends. You simply can't go it solo in most situations, especially if your fighting for your life.

Sh*t, now that I think about it, I should have put up a poll as well...

Depends on where I am when I become aware of the outbreak.

If I am with those close to me when I learn of it, or can get to them with no risk, then I will get to them and bring them with me.

If they are in a hot zone when I find out, then I will be going solo in terms of friends/family.

If I'm in my home town I'll stay with the people I know, they all have valuable skills like carpentry, mechanical engineer, wielders. The lads I work and live with have built buildings, huge industrial machines and can easily fix any vehicle.

Seeing a lot of good posts here, most of you are sticking with these people for some form of use or benefit :) (yes using them as shields count as a benefit :P)

It depens on the scale of the outbreak.

If its full blown Zombies on the streets outside the house before you know about it then unless the people are with me i will not go for them. I would expect the same from anyone.

If its early stages and they are within a few minutes driving then i might consider going for other people but to honest only people who could be of use.

It is your job to inform your family of the consquences of Z day. Sticking with family and defending them is key to up holding whatever is left of civilasation.
For the few that are ready, it is your responsbility to protect and inform others that you love.

Abandon your famliy now and you will be abandoning your soul and a large part of what makes you human.

    @ Micky:

But as we know, humans suck! Otherwise this wouldn't even need to be discussed :P

I think I would make my best effort to draw the zombies away from my loved ones. They has the skills necessary to rebuild society, I has other skills more suited to dealing with the outbreak.

I think its fair to say going lone wolf faced with a Zombie horde just won't work.

I would stick with my loved ones but not all of them. I'd find 3 people to stick with, me da (marksman and explosives expert) and me two bet mates. I would trust all three with my life and to be perfectly honest i think all 4 of us would have a great ol laugh decapitating and blowing up ze Zombies.

As has been said, it depends on where you are when it breaks.

I'd rather be with friends/ppl I know, that I communicate well with. Specifically the buddies I play L4D with on a regular basis:)

I just saying that I would do more good distracting and drawing the horde away from my family than staying with them. My mother and sister are both nurses and my brother-in-law is a very handy fellow. I like hitting stuff and setting it on fire. They constructive, I'm destructive. Better if I buy them time to get away than sticking with them and possibly all of us dying instead of just me.

Im going say chances are you wont be with the people closed to you when the outbreak occurs, unless you happen to find out at a perfect time all your family are together at dinner or something! :pac:

Also im no to comfortable with the idea of trying build up a new human race with my family

But all in all i would have to stay with them, you couldnt just abandon them unless you had no chance of staying with them, the bigger the group the better the chances of survival, if ye are organised properly.
