    Guys,

any thoughts on what to do when you see your blog content appear unannounced and un-credited on a news site?

One of my blog posts has been copied and pasted into a Welsh news site. I've written twice (politely) to the site owners but got no response. Was'nt looking for a link back, but thought a reference to the source would at least be courteous.

I'm thinking about writing a post on plagiarism (centered around their main keyword!) - see if i can embarrass them into some sort of response.

    Good or bad idea?

(PS: was'nt sure where to post this - hope ok for this forum category)

If they copied any of your images, I usually just replace them with porn. They tend to get the idea then.

Are you using a full or partial rss feed?

I always use partial - to stop this...

But dont worry - Google always knows which the original is.

Best route to get it stopped if you really want to is via their hosting company.

As was said you will get the credit for the content.
It can only affect there site. This happens everyday!

Images are constantly copied from websites!

This has happened me in the past and in the end i contacted the hosting company which i got from WHOIS and they got the guy to take down the content.

Also happened me again recently and it was a guy on Ning.com ..

I read them the riot act , then contacted them via

    http://about.ning.com/dmca-notice.php

This might also be useful dude..

Every hosting companies has their own terms and conditions for anybody who wants a website hosted by them. If they break the rules then they will be asked to take the certain content off their website. Can even get suspended or will not be hosted on the hosting companies servers again (only if they ignore their request).

This was the case with gaillimh_abu.
