Laptop advice

Hi, I'd appreciate any advice please. I'm looking to buy a laptop for college, something cheap but fairly reliable. I'm not into gaming and other such stuff so I don't think I'd need anything special or too high spec.

I'll just be using it for typing on word and browsing the web (wireless).

I really have no idea where to start though and I don't want to visit a shop yet for fear of being ripped off. So any advice would be very helpful. Thanks.

Yes I probably would. Would it be suitbale for typing and browsing or is the keyboard and screen too small? What's the difference in price between a notebook and a laptop?

I'm in the EXACT same position as K4t (almost sure we're doing the same course too??)

and I don't know about you k4t, but yes Overheal that is something I would be interested in. Any ideas on a good one??

That netbook looks decent enough, but I'd say the keyboard is probably a bit too small for typing out stuff.

You know what I've just been over in adverts and the netbook I posted above (325 new) Is being sold second hand for 375???!!!???

check them - unfortunately I don't know whats good and whats not!

For what you want it for i would advise to look less at the specs and more at the laptop itself.
As its something you'll be carrying around, try go for something as light as possible but with a large screen (14inch +) for typing, watching films etc. At that price you may be able to pick up a bargain with refurbished dells.
Best bet is just to keep researching on the net for reviews.

Oh and make sure the laptop you avail of the free upgrade to Windows 7.
