As noted before, TNA will begin a tournament this week on Impact to crown the first-ever Knockout Tag Team Champions. This is probably another move being done because of Jeff Jarrett being out of power.

Jarrett was always firm about having only three titles – the World Title, the X Division Title and Tag Team Titles, before he added the Knockouts Title and then the Legends Title. There had been talk at times of having an X Division Tag Team Titles but Jarrett always felt the more belts you have, the less important they are.

Five of the teams in the tournament are Sarita & Taylor Wilde, Awesome Kong & Raisha Saeed, Traci Brooks & Sharmell, Tara & Christy Hemme and The Beautiful People. They might add ODB & Cody Deaner as a team for some comedy.

    What a terrible idea imo

Womens Tag titles would be more value than the X Division tag titles they were considering a while back. At least the women draw ratings.

But yeah, they have plenty titles as it is, especially when they have only 2 hours of TV per week. I'm of the opinion that less is more with these kinda things, I think even the Legends title is too much to be honest, as well as being a bloody stupid name for a championship.

While the concept of Knockout tag titles isn't the worst, it's entirely unneeded. TNA already have too many titles and they don't need anymore. The more titles you have the less each title means. TNA don't need more than four.

Like if you look at how many titles they use atm:

    World Title
    X Division
    Tag Titles
    NJPW titles
    Legends title
    Knockouts

And now a new tag titles

X-Division, World Heavyweight, Tag Team and Knockouts is all they need for a two hour TV show. One per division.

    iMPACT!
No they won't. Sharmell and Traci have already been knocked out (pardon the pun) of the tournament.

I don't hate this idea. The knockout division is huge, so tag teams make sense.

It is a far superior to their legends title idea.

My only problem with this idea is it makes the singles knockouts title mean less by spreading out the division. With 16 knockouts or whatever it was there was more competition for the title so the champion seems more powerful. At least the lower card knockouts like Sojo will get more chances.
