    Hi,

Just letting off steam about buying or rather TRYING to buy tickets for certain gigs for the Guinness 250 years celebration.

On their website there is a lot of blurb about headline acts such as Sir Tom Jones, Kasabian & Estelle. I thought these would be good gigs to go to esp. with a group of friends to celebrate such a historic day!

The Guinness website directs you to ticketmaster. When I phoned up ticketmaster they initially had no idea about this gig with Sir Tom Jones etc.. Also the Guinness website has no information as to where the gig is or how to get tickets for this specific gig. REALLY HELPFUL GUINNESS!!! It then turns out after a lot of phone calls that this gig with Sir Tom Jones doesn't seem to be available to the general public. Also, there is a private gig held in St James's Gate also not available to the public!!! Is this the place where Sir Tom Jones is performing??? WHY IS THIS??? AFTER ALL, ISN'T IT THE GENERAL PUBLIC THE VERY ONES THAT BUY & DRINK THE GUINNESS???

It would have been nice to mention this on the Guinness website instead of having people go off on a wild goose chase trying to buy tickets.

It tells you on the website how to win the tickets...

All the information IS on the Guinness website.
The gig in the James' St. Brewery is the Tom Jones one....and it IS for the general public who buy their products. However, instead of putting the tickets on general sale, they are giving them away free to competition winners.
I think that's more than fair.
As far as I know, you have to purchase Guinness to be able to enter the competition, which is completely fair too.

Ive got 2 tickets to the Vicar St gig on Sept 24th (razorlight and sugarbabes are playing)! Anyone wanna swap these for the Tripod gig ?

Tom Jones will also be playing one of the pubs hosting an Arthurs day gig - tickets which the public CAN buy.
