greasing/oiling wheel

hey gang
hope yer all well
i have degreased and washed my bike recently and oiled the chain and cogs, but i feel that the wheel hugs/bearings got wet and are not smooth anymore.

have u got any recommendations as to what to do?

where to apply the grease or oil?

whether to use oil or grease?

or recommend any good youtube videos of how to do this?

It looks like your bike has Shimano wheels - so that'll mean cup and cone hubs.

You'lll find all you need to know about greasing the bearings here:

To check if it's necessary, take the wheels off and holding the axle ends in your hands give the wheel a spin. If you feel any sticking or roughness in the bearings then you'll need to service them.

sound for that info, great link there as well, il have to check tht site out,

i changed the bottom bracket on the bike, and noticed that there was a notchy feel to the bike still, but i knew it was coming from the back wheel, so thought it had to be do with the back wheel, and realised that i have been washing/degreasing the bike w/o lubing up the hubs afterwards, unreal stupid i know.

As a side issue, you shouldn't oil your cogs, or leave any lubricant on your chain. The oil is supposed to go in the chain, to lubricate the rollers.

Oil on the cogs or outside of the chain will just act as a crud-magnet.

thanks for tellin me that, so ur spose to just put oil on teh chain?

i have been oiling all teh cogs all my life til now
