    got my thingy back in the post the other day saying my time for viewing my paper was 2 to 5pm on saturday.
    does that mean i have to be there at 2 or that i can go between 2 and 5?

    You can go between 2 and 5, but I wouldn't leave it too late, as if they feel no one else will arrive they may think you are not going in.
