What would you spend this on

Just bought my lotto ticket, fingers crossed. I'd probably be better off backing horses once a week then throwing money away on the lotto.

I'd spend it on more Lotto tickets.

The money I'd have won would be lucky so I'd have to spend it on more tickets.

They should split the Lotto into several €1 million prizes. A million is enough for anyone and this way more people can win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,646 ✭✭✭cooker3

lol, everytime you do the lotto you are making a long term loss. If you are lucky enough to win it then the idea of doing it more is stupid beyond belief.

or they could split it into 6.987 million €1 prizes so that the people stupid enough to buy a ticket will actually win something for a change

For the record I don't play the lotto. But I'm thinking of starting, as far as I can see, if I spend 2 to 4 euro a week to be in with a chance of winning a few million, then I'd have to say it's money well spent.

Do you drink by any chance? Which do you think is more retarded, spending €2 on a lotto ticket, or €4.50 on a pint?

I don't like the word retarded, thats a medical condition

i think even paying €20 for a pint makes more sense then paying €2 for a piece of paper, hay you might even get (slightly) drunk

if you want to make quick money you have got to the person taking the money off people

    for example
you charge people €1.50 and offer them a (very slight) chance of them winning some money, spend some money on advertising convincing people how great it is to win, not mentioning there is not a hope in hell

    but you have to agree....

you will need to find a lot of very gullibal people :D

But there is a chance of winning, that's the whole point.

If you think it's more wasteful than spending €20 on a pint then that says a lot about you tbh, you may as well put your money on the ground and piss all over it.

nah i disagree, i am 100% sure even if i spent €100 a week on the lotto for the rest of my life i will never get the jackpot, statistics will still be far too high against me

never goto the races with me, i'd just buy beer, even if there is only 4 running i'd feel out numbered

btw i have this conversation regularily with the wife, she tore up her ticket over an hour ago
