    Hi all,
A pretty stupid question here but what Satellittes should I be able to pick up with 80cm dish in the west of Ireland which is currently pointing at the "main" sky satellitte?(which I dont know the name of)
    Also,
is there a site out there which will show me what satellittes are up there and what channels are available on them?
Thanks for any help in advance.

    A good few!

Places like flysat.com and lyngsat.com show you all the satellites, what channels they carry, transponder details, etc, and the footprint of these satellites (footprint will indicate where the sat beams are directed, and often the strength, with a table indicating what size dish you'd need to receive the sat). Generally, in Ireland, we can see roughly from 40E to about 30W, so narrow your interest to sats between this range to begin with. There will be some within this range that maybe don't point towards us, or need big dishes to receive.

Some of the typical sats you should be able to get easy enough with an 80cm would be 28E (Sky), 19E (German/French), 13E (Italian/Polish), 42E (Turkish - some beams), 5W (some French), 30W (Spanish).

Sorry guys, another stupid question, if I was to leave the dish/lnb setup as it is (without moving) what would I pick up?

If it pointing at the ""main" sky satellitte", then everything in the links in GerardKeating's post.

It will also depend on your receiver, whether you have a Sky subscription (lots of encrypted channels), and how accurately your dish is pointed.
