Hi folks, So i was previously looking for a classic a few months back and well things didnt go to great.

I was wondering if anyone could share with me the usual places to go to buy a classic or whatever it is I should do.

    Also what i'm looking for in order of preference is ;

Camaro Yenko, late 60's, early 70's.

    Mustang mid to late 60's

And possibly a Dodge charger late 60's early 70's.

Anyone have any ideas on prices also.

I know its a lot to ask but any lil info is a big help.

    Hi Buck,

Yenko is going to be silly money - so much so that if you spent this money on a car you would be afraid to drive it for fear of putting a mark on it.

Mid to late 70's Stang I would stay away from. They went to pot after '71 or so. You can pick up a decent 65 - 71 Coupe here for around €10k, double that for a Fastback.

Charger you should be looking at 69 - 71. Prices with all of these cars are determined by body style and spec. A decent Charger is gonna cost you €20k plus here.

You will find cheaper stuff in the UK. Prices have not gone down so much in the states and by the time you pay shipping and VAT it is often not really worth it unless you are buying something expensive and rare - like a Yenko!

Charger's, especially the 1968 and 1969 ones are VERY expensive (you can thank that idiotic 'Dukes Of Hazzard' show for destroying most of them). An R/T model can fetch anywhere between €40k to €80k!

Here's one in America if you're willing to ship it here:

The cars you selected are kind of top, middle and bottom!

I'd love to see a Yenko in the country but somehow I doubt I ever will!
So the price might not suit you.

The Chargers have commanded premium prices for average cars in recent years. A friend of mine has recently completed a restoration on a '69, which hasnt hit the streets yet. I'll PM you about this.

A '71-'73 Mustang might suit you best, plenty to choose from.
Lots of parts suppliers and parts are not that expensive compared to other brands.

I'd suggest you pick up a copy of Classic American magazine. This is an English based mag that will give you a good feel for whats out there in terms of cars for sale and suppliers etc.
Its monthly and you can pick it up in Easons.
