Hi I had a friend who was seriously assaulted in a club over the weekend by up to about 8 guys. Serious assault which included kicks to the head, glass smashed across head and face.

    Result:
Broken nose, stitches to the eye brow area and some bumps around the head area. Tells me he's waking up each morning feeling rough, as if he's had ten beers an hour or two before he woke up.

What's annoying for us all is that the security in the club wasn't capable of dealing with the scum who done this and to add further insult, the cameras weren't recording. How convenient. Guys get off scot free but surely someone has to be held responsible?

Does anyone know of anyone specialising in such cases?

Any personal injury solicitor can handle this. It's very run-of-the mill stuff.

The people responsible and/or the nightclub gets sued.

not too sure but me thinks if the club security could not control the situation on top of their cctv not working, leaving themselves open for a claim

    Sounds extremely suspicious to me.

But if it were me, hypothetically speaking, I would have contacted the Gardai at the time and logged a complaint of assault as soon as practicable after, noted (photographed using a polaroid camera) the injuries, Dr's name who treated me in A&E for a statement at a later stage, any receipts that incurred cost to me as a result of the incident and would be contacting a solicitor and furnishing him/her with day, date, time & place of the incident and the name of the company that supplied the security staff if they were sub contracted etc.
