Never heard of these before. They must be fairly new. Kinda like an access course except you don't have to be a mature student. Really good idea. They provide links to the universities, but places are very limited.

Is this where you are doing it, OP?

I did a fetac level 5 liberal arts course in rathmines last year! I really enjoyed it but it was hard work so many different modules and loads of assignments most due round the same time!

If your looking to go to maynooth to do arts you need at least 7 distinctions, and its 5 for ucd! :)

The number of distinctions indicated is like the Leaving Cert requirements for courses - just a guide. This year it was 7 distinctions for NUI Maynooth but with the increased number of applicants expected next year it will probably go back to 8 distinctions (the max number that you can count) for NUI Maynooth (not sure what UCD was in the end despite the stated number of distinctions) and some of these are in mandatory modules. Check out the codes required on www.cao.ie - FETAC section and go to FETAC website to confirm the names of the modules to go with the codes.

Ask your Course Co-Ordinator in the first week to give you the names of the modules and the FETAC codes and the code of the award that you will be doing and compare them with the requirements of the degree you are hoping to progress to. Many FE colleges change the name of the course for marketing course - there is no FETAC award called Pre-Arts - it might be any of the following 3 FETAC Awards in 1. Liberal Arts 2. Cultural and Heritage Studies or 3. European and Language studies

FETAC courses are continuous assessment so it is hard work from the start. Ask to see the QA Procedures on Assessment for your college so you will know the procedures for submitting work and your right to appeal etc.

Hey guys! I'm also doing a Pre Arts or Liberal Arts course in the Liberties, I was wondering what the books are for the course? I'm just trying to figure out what I'm gonna be spending money wise?
