    SD in more detail
The Superstars match for SmackDown was Ziggler vs. Finlay vs. Knox for a match for the IC title against Mysterio at Breaking Point, I had Ziggler's aunt, uncle and cousins in front of me cheering for him huge. Ziggler won after Finlay hit the Celtic Cross on Knox, then Ziggler threw Finlay out of the ring. Ziggler actually got a good pop mixed with the heat.

SmackDown started with Punk introduced as the new World Heavyweight Champion, and like the first straight-edge one or something like that. He came out and pretty much said "I told you so" and then brought up painkillers and morphine drips. Then Hardy came out to a MEGA POP, limping the whole way. (I was going nuts for Punk though, and got ribbed pretty good for it, he's still the face to me... dammit ) Anyway they moved on to talking about "loser leaves SmackDown" for the cage match, immediately giving away the result for me, but not the rest of the arena. Then T-Lo came out and made it official. And I think we went to the first commercial.

The first match was Matt Hardy and Morrison vs the Hart Dynasty, Hardy and Morrison won in like six minutes, seriously. Morrison pinned Smith with the Starship Pain. Morrison and Smith semi-botched a spot where Smith caught Morrison off of a springboard, so they just did it again, no harm no foul.

Then Drew McIntyre entered off-air, back on air R-Truth entered and was OHH-VERR, even I was doing the What's UP! thing too, but McIntyre attacked R-Truth before the match started and hit him with a double-armed DDT (Foley style). He then cut a very quiet promo, but I was able to hear "Rapper" in it, IDK he was quiet.

Maria and Melina were backstage talking about Ziggler, and Melina said that she saw him with another girl backstage after SummerFest... er -Slam. Maria actually seemed very heelish when she began talking back, even mentioning that Melina didn't even have a boyfriend. Then Dolph showed up and told Maria that the girl was his sister Kristen... Kristen was actually the name of his aunt sitting in front of me, funny tidbit there.

Michelle then came out on crutches and cut a promo about how we all paid to see her perform, and that Melina spoiled it for us. She then introduced Layla as her friend, for her match against Melina. Then Layla came out and I realized I was about to see my dream Diva hotness match (Melina/Layla). Melina came out to a huge pop, especially from me, and the splits got an even bigger ovation. Melina beat Layla pretty quickly with the Leg Guillotine (Prmal Scream?) and then shoved Michelle over afterwards. Then in one of the dumbest decisions ever, we cut from the divas to Mike Knox walking backstage.

Joey Matthews interviewed Knox on a stage next to the stage, and we really couldn't hear much of it, until Finlay came out and attacked him with the shilleleagh. (Michelle was actually still leaving up the ramp during the attack).

Next was Mysterio/Kane, the pyro for Kane scared everyone ****less, and Mysterio got another HUGE POP... These two actually botched a chokeslam/rana spot, which they re-did, Kane dodged and went out side where he got DQ'd for..... um... mean-ness. After that Khali came down with Singh who had a Kendo stick, Khali and Kane went to the outside where both Khali and Sngh got cane shots in on Kane, and they went to the back. Then Dolph came down and hit his jumping russian leg sweep finisher on Mysterio(Zig-Zag?).

Then we saw Jeff doing his face paint and Matt Hardy came up and talked to him. Jeff was CHEEE-ZZZYYY.

The next match was supposed to be Jericho vs Shad, and Jericho cut a promo beforehand about Cryme Tyme and MVP and Mayweather. Cryme Tyme got a pop on their entrance and after some shenanigans, T-Lo changed the match to a tag match (HUGE POP). Then Show pinned Shad after a Knockout Punch.

Finally was the main event, where Punk beat Hardy via escape in an AWESOME match, and the crowd was into it like crazy. I stood up and sat down like seven times. After Punk left up the ramp, the craziness started:

I'm not sure how this all will show up on TV, but I think there will be "Mucho" editing. Punk went back and Hardy cut a promo saying "This isn't goodbye forever, just goodbye for now..." and high-fived everyone before giving away his armbands and stuff. He went to the top of the ramp and Punk attacked him from behind with the belt, standing over him. Punk then came to the ring and cut a promo until.... *Lights out* *GONG* *Fans LOSE MINDS* and Taker finally came out in a vest like the one he wore at Wrestlemania (might be permanent) and chokeslammed Punk before posing with the belt, he then walked out and did his "turn around fist in the air" thing. The referees had to physically pull Punk out of the ring and I'm sure SmackDown was over by now because...

    ..."Are you ready?"

DX came out to a HUUUUGGEEEEE OVATION, and did their full entrance complete with pyro. They then did a bunch of stuff during their promo... made Justin Roberts and the referee leave the ring, made fun of Shawn's chaps, and talked about being confused with what brand they were on "What time is it? 10:45? That's okay, RAW's on until 11:00... wait *Looks at ring apron*... This is SmackDown? We're off air? This is on Friday but is taped on Tuesday but we won't be on air anyway?" -Triple H... Then John Cena came out and by god, even with the arena only 2/3rds full, he got the HUMONGO POP OF THE NIGHT. Zero heat. Seriously. Then Legacy came out and I couldn't even hear the reaction for Orton over the music. Then they had a fun match before Cena brawled with Orton to the back and DX hit a stereo Pedigree/SCM for the win. DX high-fived everyone and did crotch chops again and even let a kid into the ring to chops with too.

...Overall a great ECW, SmackDown, and post show.

    ECW
William Regal, Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov came out for a promo; fortunately, only one of them talked. Regal briefly put over his team before Christian came out. They are playing up Christian’s win over William Regal as a record-breaking eight second win. Regal asked for a rematch as Christian started calling Regal “Bill” as an excuse to get the crowd to chant the same. Then, Christian said he wanted to wrestle challengers who he hasn’t defeated in eight seconds. Tiffany came out, awful delivery and all, and made another nontitle match between the two for later tonight.

They pitched to a video package hyping the “storied rivalry” between Goldust and Sheamus.
    Goldust v. Sheamus
They started exchanging blows to begin before Sheamus hit a back suplex. Sheamus held a reverse chin lock and rammed Goldust in the mat. Sheamus continued using elbows and knees for a bit. Goldust came back with an inverted atomic drop, an uppercut and a face buster. Goldust then hit a flat liner (Kanyon’s old finisher) for a near fall. Sheamus took a powder, allowing him to trip Goldust from the ring and take him to the floor. They brawled for a bit on the outside until Goldust rammed Sheamus into the ring steps. The referee reached ten, leading to the rare draw by way of a double countout.
Goldust drew Sheamus, DCOR, 3:59, *½.

Backstage, the Bellas were begging Shelton Benjamin to sing “What a Wonderful World”. Shelton sang awfully before Zack Ryder walked in. The two went at it verbally before Tiffany broke it up. She then made a parejas increibles match between the two and Yoshi Tatsu & Tyler Reks. They then went to the new girl who interviewed Paul Burchill in advance of his match with the Hurricane on Superstars. A backstage promo to promote a Superstars match, that’s different for sure.
Tyler Reks & Yoshi Tatsu v. Shelton Benjamin & Zack Ryder
Reks started with a sunset flip on Shelton that lead to several other covers on the mat. Reks hit a crossbody off of the second rope for a near fall. Shelton came back with a clothesline and looked to tag out. Ryder refused the tag and Shelton was rolled up for a near fall. Benjamin came back with a Samoan drop and made the tag this time. Ryder went to work on the mat until Reks made his way up. The two did a double collision spot which led to the double tag. Yoshi came in and nailed Shelton with a series of kicks and a knee lift. Yoshi went up top but was slammed off of the top rope by Shelton. Over in his corner, Shelton threw Ryder in the ring. Yoshi was then shoved by Ryder into Shelton. Tatsu then knocked Shelton out of the ring from behind and hit a big roundhouse kick on Ryder for the win.
After the match, Benjamin hit pay dirt on Ryder.
    Reks & Tatsu d. Shelton & Ryder, Pin, 4:00, **.

    Christian v. William Regal
Christian went for the kill switch early but Regal slipped out. Christian got the better of some chain wrestling early on and sent Regal to the floor. Christian hit a baseball slide onto Regal before Kozlov and Jackson stood between the two men. That led to a commercial break and upon return, Regal held the advantage. He held a chin lock and used an exploder suplex. Regal then went for his patented knee lift and missed, leading Christian to get a near fall off of a sunset flip. Regal went to the floor and caught Christian on the apron. He then threw Christian from the apron, straight onto the floor. Regal stayed back looking for a countout, but Christian got back in the ring at nine. Regal held the advantage for a bit before Christian caught Regal with a short knee. Christian then used a backslide for a near fall. Regal retook the advantage and held a rest hold on the mat. Christian worked his way up and onto the top rope where he connected with a crossbody block for a near fall. Christian continued on the offense with a back body drop and elbow drop. Christian then hit consecutive missile dropkicks from the middle and top ropes for a long two count. Christian then connected with a tornado DDT for another near fall. Christian back dropped Regal to the floor and followed him out. Christian sent Regal back inside the ring and slapped Kozlov across the face. Back inside, Jackson distracted the referee, allowing Kozlov to throw a shoulder block to the gut from the apron. That set Christian up for Regal’s knee trembler and the victory. Therefore, Regal gets an ECW title match somewhere in the future.
    Regal d. Christian, Pin, 13:15, ***.

So Punk is going to lose at Breaking Point? Bravo WWE.

    I'm Enjoying Smackdown so far.

Punk was brilliant (Again) opening the show.

Nice re-debut for Drew McIntyre. Glad to see they didn't leave him in his FCW kilt.

The Hart Dynasty v Jo Mo and Hardy could be a nice fued. But maybe Reys problems could cause a change in that programme. I hope not.

Another great smackdown, its amazing how much better it is than monday night bore!

Great match between Punk and Jeff, decent sendoff for jeff too considering how other people were completely embarassed during their final appearance for WWE.

Hope Punk gets a good long title reign as he is great as a heel.

Probably replaced with the match from the Vault. Think they did the same thing with the Kane-Khali segment last week.

Good smackdown although kinda had to laugh at all the people crying when jeff was leaving

I liked the reactions of the fans at the end, its nice to see that some fans get genuinely caught up in the business. What harm is that really?
The cage match was solid but the ending was marvellous. Punk coming out and attacking Jeff was an unforgettable moment.
It seems it will be Melina v Mc Cool till the end of time. Yuck.:(
Good debut for Drew as well.
They should team Matt and Jo Mo full time and have them feud with Jericho and Show after Breaking point. Morrison desperately needs something to connect with the crowd. It would ease Matt back into action as well as he may not be ready for a hectic singles feud.

As Bill Behrens puts it, that is the holy grail of Pro Wrestling - willing suspension of disbelief. Wrestling is at it's best when the fans actually care and they care about Jeff Hardy.

Punk/Jeff is a contender for feud of the year - good send off for Jeff and its not forever

I like to see Matt/Jo Mo feud with Jerishow for tag titles

Definitely I totally agree with this, Punk attacking Hardy on his send off was a brilliant addition to that feud. The commitment Jeff showed during it is enough to give them feud of the year.

Possibly, but I disagree on his departure as I think not having Hardy gone after the Taker 'tranformation' was a missed opportunity. More memorable as would the image of Taker switching out in a match with Hardy the same way against Punk X months down the line.

So was the chance to put down the loser leaves WWE stipulation on Teddy Long's probation.
