    hey guys

i was on the bus the other day and i was looking out the window as we passed an old church just looking out at it the 1st thing to come to mind was zombies!

would they be usefull as they have few entrances but large doors and bell towers!!

do you have any good churches near you??

    all comments welcome:D:D

I think churches would offer good defense with their high windows, heavy brick walls, big wooden doors, small backrooms etc, but they'll be swarmed with people on Z day, many of whom won't be in the right frame of mind to fight!

My guess is they'd probably be a good place to set up base in a few weeks after infection first strikes and after things have calmed down a bit.

Churches are not a good idea, you have seen the opening to 28 Days Later right?:p If not, watch it!

Basically like the title suggests it's a movie that takes plave 28 days after a zombie attack, theyre not technically zombies but they bascially are. This guy wakes up in hospital 28 days after the outbreak of the infection and walks around a deserted London. He reaches a church and goes inside, he sees dead people everywhere with zombies having their fill. He goes up into the top floor and a zombie priest comes after him, then he runs out the church like any of us would, well worth watching. There's a sequel too, a very different film in many ways but still very good!

the large stained glass windows and the stink of God in the place would be a problem

Churches would just be awkward, too big, not enough food or water. You'd be running back and forth between shops looking for supplies. A lot of Irish churches are in the country so you'd be really cut off in some places! Best place is between a shopping centre and a hardware store, weapons and food!:pac:

It's a sort of "all your eggs in one basket" situation isn't it? Good because you can fit a lot of people in and relativly easy to defend. But,if the Zombies get in your F***ed as[of the churchs I know] are like 2-3 rooms and the huge main hall so you'd have no way to barricade yourself into a smaller area of the building

If Zombies make their way in you are finished, like all the people stuck in the car park in 28 Weeks. Small room+bigcrowd+zombies= MAYHEM!!!:p

It is well worth seeing, you can get the two of them in a box set which isn't too expensive. Be warned: they are very gory, especially 28 Weeks, just be prepared, you have not seen anything like it before!!!

gets weird at the end, but the start of the film is a must see. not so much after the army get involved.

Times of crisis people will go and pray.

Espeically bitten people. You'll end up going to a place where a lot of desperate people died and probably reanimated.
