Sorry if I should've posted this in another thread but I couldn't really find one to match my query.

I have an unlocked 2G iPhone upgraded to 3.0. I also have vodafone live using a proxy.pac so that I only get charged 99cent a day to access the net.

I'm heading to America in a few weeks so the questions I have are:
    1. Will I be able to use my phone for calls/texts in America?
    2. Will I be able to access the net using the vodafone live thingy? :)

    Cheers,
    Regan

Considering the phone was designed in the US with US consumers in mind, I'd say it's a fair bet it will work. ;) The only thing you need to check is if you have roaming enabled on your account.

Do, but check out the costs before you go. Probably around 10 Euro per megabyte or something equally as extortionate.

yeah id check roaming charges tbh, my mate go stung for 250 quid from 02 for roaming when he was in holland, and the fact vodafone dont have a network over in the states so your gonna have to connect to a network like AT&T, telofonica and verizon i think, either way, i'd try avoid data roaming as your gonna get chewed up, you can turn data roaming off on it anyway,

and the iPhone is unique in the sence its a fully dedicated web browser so your downloading a lot more data then a standard phone on its data, so beware

here is vodafones terms for roaming
