This is getting released next month and is shaping up to be quite a nice little Gothic horror. SO far word of mouth is good and the trailers bar the over use of CGI all look very well.

Can't be any worse than Stuart Townshend's Dorian Grey as portrayed in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. The "british" tag sends off alarm bells.... Their press might rally around it and claim it to be some kind of classic *cough Empire loves all british films cough*.

looks ok - it gone pretty under the radar not much publicity for this movie

It got loads of publicity on the news during that Millwall vs West Ham fight after their football match cause it was on the side of a bus during a video that was repeatedly played :p

I seen Dorian Gray at the weekend. It has received very average reviews and well..... after seeing it....those reviews were fully deserved. Ben Barnes didn't really convince in the lead role. It felt very laboured, the pace was completely off. Colin Firth, who I'm not a fan off, did manage to put in a decent performance so credit to him. The film tended to sag whenever he wasn't on screen. Dorian Gray's descent into a debauched lifestyle just didn't seem convincing or believeable. It's not an awful film just not a good one either. 4/10.

I'd agree with most of that, although I thought Ben Barnes did a decent job as Gray. He's a lot more comfortable doing the naive and innocent stuff in the first half of the film, than the nasty debauchery-reveling stuff in the second. Firth is certainly the strongest aspect in a film without any really strong aspects.

The pacing is all wrong. If you ever want to see an example of what a poor edit can do to a film - this is it. A few scenes just tapered off without ending properly, and there's no real suspense at any stage.

    4/10 is about right.
