Was watching a special episode of chuck on tv today, a special 3D episode. So I got the free 3D glasses that came with the sky magazine and tried it out to see what it was like, just to see if it was anything amazing like some people say....Well I can safely say that any thing on tv or any movie in 3D is $hit. jebus, it doesnt work for a start, it hurts youre eyes and you might aswell sit really close to the screen. Its just really $hit, dont waste youre money on 3D movies....by the way chuck is crap. what do you think?

those paper glasses are rubbish, however you get proper 3d glasses in the theme parks in america like universal which makes the 3d shows like terminator and shrek seem amazing

I have that My bloody valentine film that is in 3D. But i have no 3D glasses. It may actually look all right watching it with them cause without a pair there are green lines all over the place. It's pretty much unwatchable without them.

When your watching stuff on the TV at home, 3D doesn't work, but if ya go to a cinema wit the proper stuff then its deadly altogether.

any of yas go to the X-D cinema on O'Connell st in Dublin, its in 3d and the seats move, now that is deadly!

i always found 3d movies fairly impressive, especially the porn scene in the "my bloody valentine" movie :pac:

only thing is it hurts your eyes, and its also a good idea because 3d movies would be hard to make a bootleg copies with the camcorder in the cinema ;)

theyre alright. not great. The Terminator thing? It was so so.

I havent seen any of the new 3D movies though. Pixar claims to have made some leap forward with the technology, if anyone can comment on that.

Frankly Im just waiting for the 3D screen down the road to show anything that isnt a kids movie. Oh look! Gerbils in 3D! I am so there.

I presume you are talking about the Chuck episode that was released on super bowl weekend back in January?

I watched it on a 42 inch LCD and had the glasses that they were giving out at the supermarkets at the time and I was impressed, really added depth to the programme and the colours were very vibrant. Thought it was a good effort, definitely not crap.

Oh and chuck crap  It's worth watching just for Yvonne Strahovski :pac:

I remember the Virtual Boy from Nintendo. It gave anybody who used it a blinding head ache within about 10 minutes.

The 4D cinemas/rides are really good. I did the Voyager one in Las Vegas and it was great fun as the chairs push into you and stuff. They also have actors doing stuff around you.

Honey I Shrunk The Audience is awesome and all the 3D films I've seen in the cinema over the last year have been very well done.

It's moved on a long way from the green and purple shades.

I think it has aged really badly....same goes for Terminator. All the animated stuff seems to work better and have a better shelf life ( Shrek, tough to be a bug, Philharmagic) but all seems to be formulaic....with the exception of Spider-man which is the best theme park ride in the world.

That ride is really good. The Muppet Show one is good too just for the actual theatre being just like the TV show. It was like being in TV.

Stupidest thing I've ever spent a fiver on. Really, really crap.

It was hilarious, how crap it was though, so me and the mates got a good laugh out of it.

I have amblyopia, so naturally I think '3D entertainment' is a load of arse:pac:
Wonder what it's like to see 3D with two fully functioning eyes.

Has 3D actually progressed in the last 50 years?
Like 'blu-ray' I think this one is simply a scam to con the ignorant.

how did i forget spiderman  like you said best theme park ride in the world, f**king amazing still after all these years, the falling off the building bit at the end, wow

they used to have a 3d rollercoaster in caesars palace in vegas years ago called race to atlantis, great ride, pity they got rid :(

technically though terminator, shrek, honey, spiderman etc are all 4D (ie interactive with the audience)
