    Hey guys,

Spent a bit of cash on a replacement charger for my Dell Laptop a while ago and as it was some crap make from Japan all it does is power the thing but wont leave a charge in the laptop.

I have no intention of spending another fortune on one from ebay and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get one cheap?

    Cheers!

Would you consider €19+del a fortune?

I buy a good bit of stuff from this guy and they're genuine oem parts.

Borrow a charger from a friend first in case it's a battery/laptop problem.

Under 50 quid direct from dell.

But, just so i understand, the charger will power it while plugged in, but you get no juice from the battery? If this is the case, it's not the charger at fault, it's the battery.

Dude, that means the charger works, but your battery doesn't charge.

Run the Recalibration Utility for the battery. 9 out of 10 times this works for a bad battery.

    cheers guys,

may go through kaizer's dude as he seems to be the cheapest.

yeah the battery is not taking a charge but it did when I hid the original dell charger. this crappy japanese model is prob to blame. may run that battery calib all the same as there is no harm.

    cheers for the help all!

Your battery is dead. A new charger is not going to fix that. Buy a battery. Your laptop is probably 3+ years old, that's a lot of time to get out of one battery.
