The ICPSA are running another open coaching day for shooters - both members and potential members are welcome. It's on in Esker Shooting Grounds just outside Birr and takes place on Saturday 12th Sept. Places are limited so booking is essential.

Full details are here on the ICPSA website.

Thanks for the heads up. Will you need your own gear or will it be provided?

Of course I was wondering that. All I have are ear muffs.:pac:

Everything is provided including glasses, muffs or ear plugs, guns, cartridges and clays - all courtesy of Connaught CPSA.

Nothing in the ICPSA website says you can't go. Call them up on the number provided and double-check, then head for Esker...

Oh, I did last week. That was pretty much the answer. Looks like there are very limited number of slots available.

Bother. Oh well. If it's that in demand, they'll run more...

Seems my geography is as bad as my spelling. Esker shooting grounds is just outside Banagher and not Birr.
Well I suppose it is outside Birr - a long, long way outside:eek:

    From the ICPSA website:

Dennis O'Donovan looked after those interested in Sporting on the day

A sun drenched east Galway was the venue for the latest ICPSA Open/Coaching day hosted in conjunction with the CCPSA.

A good crowd ensured that Colm Hudson and Dennis O'Donovan were kept busy from 10am until 5pm and many less experienced (and indeed some more experienced) shooters came away if not knowing exactly how to hit more targets at least knowing why they miss some of the ones they do!

We would like to thank Dennis and Colm for making themselves available on the day as well as Ronan Morris and Michael Lally who made it all come together.

Most of all we would like to thank Pat Donaghy and the Esker Shooting Grounds staff for ensuring that everything went smoothly on the day.

Sun drenched it was alright! I was burnt to a bloody crisp - still it was a great day and everybody who turned up seemed to enjoy it.

Just like to say a BIG thank you to all organisers and coaches.

I arrived not having a clue about DTL etc, the coaches were brilliant I learned loads, still can't hit Jack Sh1t, but at least I know why:D

Special thanks to the coach who loaned me a comb raiser, as he discovered that the gun was not fitting me correctly.

    HH.
