    Anybody do this before?
What did you find to be the best way of doing it?

    Thanks

you can get a train into glasgow and change there to get to edinburgh. need to walk to the other train station, about a ten minute walk. takes about 90 min roughly, depending on how easy you can get between the train stations and which trains you get (you can avoid the walk between train stations but for a much quicker train it's worth it).

Used to be able to get half price tickets if you showed your ryanair ticket but not sure if this is still the case

Haven't done this for a couple of years so I'm not sure if the information is still current. You can buy your ticket all the way through to Edinburgh on the train from Prestwick. You need to change stations in Glasgow but there's a shuttle bus between the two.

I showed my Ryanair ticket and got a reduction but as I said, it's a few years ago now. Ask though!

The train from Prestwick to Glasgow takes about half an hour and the train from Glasgow to Edinburgh takes about 45 minutes.
