I'm not 100% on what area I should be posting this but I'll give this a go...

I'm looking to set up a small business in the north Kildare region and want to buy some stock in bulk (Tea Bags, Bars, Chrisps etc.)

I was just wondering is there a Cash and Carry type premisies open to the public where you don't have to buy a licence? If not, what would my best option be!? Any area around Dublin would suit me.

    Thanks.

If you are setting up a small business, will it be VAT registered?

Any cash and carry will deal with you, and even if your not, talk to them, if they see bulk purchases, they may not even care !

When I say small I mean very small as in one box of each product to start out with!

I was just wonderin is there any place where these type of purchases may be available?

I might just ask a local shop keeper....

    Thanks....

Have you ever been to a cash and carry? Ones I've been to work just like super markets but the boxes are bigger. You can buy as much or as little as you want you just have to register first.

If you walk into any cash and carry they will sell you a CASE of this and a CASE of that. They will not sell you a box of this or that.

Just making sure you understand what I am saying.

If you are paying cash (what else), they probably wouldnt care. Or you could speak to you local shopkeeper.

Go to Musgraves in ballymum, bring 2 pieces of business identification (invoices etc) + copy of business registration, fill out the form and 2 minutes later you can shop.

On many items the will have bulk boxes suitable for office / catering. In retail packaging you'll buy a case of 6 / 12 / 24 of an item.

Prices will be marked per case and exclude vat. There's no vat on most basic food items. Biscuits / crisps have 13.5% / 21% vat.

You'll also find that prices are generally not too different from the main supermarkets.
