Failed repeats

Im nearly sure I failed my repeat exam yesterday. I missed the first one due to illness and think I failed it yesterday. Has anybody ever found themselves in this situation. I dont want to pay to repeat one whole module for the year, I passed the rest of my exams and have already paid for my campus accomodation so it'll be a costly business just to pull out.

Does anybody know if i can carry the module over to next year?

did you defer your first exam or did you just not turn up?

I think it largely depends on what course you're doing. In CA I've never heard of it being possible to carry a subject over, but apparently it is for Journalism. Really just go talk to your course's head, they'll know.

I deffered it cos i got extenuating circumstances

it's extremely rare to be able to carry a failed module. It's possible in some courses with some modules but in the vast majority of situations the course will require that you've mastered the previous year before you can get into the next year.
Best piece of advice, echos Arquinsiel, is to wait till you get your results, in repeats I've found lecturers will give you the benefit of the doubt if at all possible, and if you have failed, go talk to your course chair.

If you got 30%+ you can compensate and don't have to repeat at all.
IIRC, for every 1% under 40%, you need 2% over 50% in another subject to compensate.
(Or have they changed the rules in the last 10 years?)

they have changed since those rules but it's not relevant here as you can't compensate in Autumn exams

You could when I last failed only one autumn exam, but the required score was then 1% over 70% in another subject.

Sorry I have to correct myself as I just noticed you said you'd deferred your exam, so it wasn't a repeat it was a first attempt. In which case you can indeed compensate:

all the regulations are here for compensation
