Ok I was gonna put this tread in the Music production forum but I decided to put it hear instead because I asking about Mac specific Programs.

Right I've always liked the idea of making music on a computer but never got into it because I went the Visual Arts route instead(Photography and Filmmaking). Anyway I got Logic Pro recently with intention of teaching myself how to use it, haven't got around it to yet. I play guitar so eventually I will want to record my guitar playing into it.

Now recently I started, briefly playing with Garageband, now I know its a more fun, consumer program but I'm a blank slate so my question is should I play around with Garageband more, or jump straight into Logic Pro? Bare in mind its only for hobby/fun at the moment until I get more into it. My plan is to make music to score my films, among other things.

Anyone have and wise words of advice

    Cheers

    Trip Hazard

horses for courses really, depending what you are comfortable with. My writing partner uses garageband, I use logic pro 8 and the two seemlessly work together

I'd stick with Garageband to start with. Nothing worse than being presented with option-overload when you are trying to learn some new tool
