Repair or Replace bumper (pics included)

    Hi,

Failed my NCT due to "Sharp Edges" on the rear bumper (see pics) which in reality is only a small crack on the bumper (think it is fibreglass).

What would be the best option here
    - Repair the bumper
    - Replace with bumper from scrap yard (have possible for €60)

Problem is that it is a colour coded bumper so either way there will probably be issues with colour and it may need to be re-sprayed.

Final option would be to stick some tape over the crack, pass the NCT and remove it afterwards. Would this work??

    Any help appreciated.

Sorry - can't see the small crack. While I was looking I spotted a gapping hole in your bumper though. :D

Would putting tape over it really qualify the car for a pass:eek:

The OP should try fill some of the whole with a foam or something which turns solid. Then put tape over it. That way when he rubs his hand over it it won't feel like a huge hole.

But the problem is that you will be bringing it back specifically to get this problem checked. So the guy will go over and take a good look at where he tape is.. I think it's worth the try :D

Fill and smooth the hole with Tiger seal or some other type chemical, job done

Just get rid of the sharp edges. If you want cheap, just put some foam filler & tape over it.
Otherwise, get a replacement same colour bumper from a breakers yard. That was a common enough colour in that old corolla so should be possible to get it in right colour. It would be costly to be messing with paint on that age of car.

Plenty of tape and you'll be grand. Then it won't be a sharp edge anymore.
Looks like a mid 90's corrolla, not worth spending any money to fix it.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
