Transfer of House

I went through a legal separation from my husband in Mach 08 and as part of the settlement I took over the paying of the mortgage on my home. On the day of the court my solicitor advised that it should take no longer than 3 months to complete the transfer to my sole name unless my ex dragged his feet. Well, my ex did drag it out for about 2.5 months and now my solicitor is draging it out - in my opinion. There were one or two issues with the title - all solved in November 08, but as yet I still have not got the house transferred to my name. I am wondering what is the usual length of time on something like this? I am not really in a good position as money is tight and cant really afford to go asking another solicitor. Also, the plan was for me to sell the house to pay for the legal fees involved but in all the time that has elapsed the housing market has impolded. Anyone out there got any thoughts? Perhaps been through this process before?
