PC Police Stike Again

It's getting to the stage where you won't be allowed to say anything on the BBC for fear of offending someone. Reading the quoted text you have to wonder why is it that two people complaining can cause so much trouble? What of the thousands of people listening who weren't offended, surely their lack of complaint should be taken into consideration.
U.K. broadcaster the BBC has fallen foul of Britain's media watchdog after Hollywood legend Tony Curtis swore throughout a live radio interview earlier this year.

Broadcasting rulemaker Ofcom has warned BBC Radio Ulster in Northern Ireland to clean up its act after it failed to stick to decency rules with the expletive-strewn chat with the Some Like It Hot star.

Curtis was being interviewed for the station's afternoon Talkback programme, and swore throughout the feature, which prompted two complaints from listeners.

The BBC insist Curtis apologised profusely after he realised the show was not pre-recorded.

But despite the apology - Ofcom have warned the broadcaster to fully brief its guests on what they are allowed to say before going live.

Ofcom states that the profanities used were "likely to have gone beyond the expectations of the audience for a programme of this type and at this time". »

Honestly. I wonder how much the inquiry cost on the basis of *two* complaints?

Maybe they could take a similiar position in RTE - anything to get Gerry Ryan off the airwaves.

I heard some comedian a while back, he had a newspaper article which spoke of one of those "adult chat" programmes (Paul Raymond TV etc) which had been fined because a 'presenters' panties slipped and showed some lady bits.

He brought up the very good point of "who the fcuk complained" - pervy old men sitting on couches fapping and one of them sees some flesh and thinks "that's just not cricket ..."

This is a good article on the stupidity of pc

That's a good idea. We should complain any time someone curses or says anything offensive on his show. He'll be off the air in a month

I think one of the worst cases of 'PC' in recent years was Steven Spielberg replacing the guns in the original cut of E.T. with Walkie Talkies for the anniversary edition... WTF?!!!...

Hang on - this is swearing, not PC, surely...? Not that I give a flying fvck...

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Another reason why Unionists id be better off in the Republic - we can swear:D.

In all seriousness though, the brits need to chillax, I mean I saw a music video the other day on one of the english music channels that had the word gun bleeped out...GUN! Thats the great thing about Ireland, its much more relaxed, we get to hear all the uncensored songs on the radio, and presenters and callers swearing on radio at 7 in the morning, and watch shows like podge and rodge on telly. A show like that would be banned outright in britain after the first show...

It's a broad term these days like racism which has little to do with race, rather colour.
