The Airbus A380 has been confirmed for its debut at NI International Airshow at Portrush in Co. Antrim. It will do a flying display (not a fly-by) on the Saturday only. It's a free 2-day show and also features Red Arrows, Eurofighter, Blades, Gnats, Vampire, Spitfire, Commando beach landing etc. etc. etc.
    5th and 6th September.

Surely if this was the case it would be heavily advertised as the A380 alone would bring in a massive crowd id think. There is no mention of it on the site too just a shadow of an A380

OK ready for some more great news? I've had to sit on this for 2 weeks and I've been itching to tell.

I got a call from Airbus and they asked if we'd be interested in displaying one of their planes at Portrush. Naturally I said yes, and asked which one. He says, "Oh its the 380"

I nearly fell off the chair.

So, Saturday 5th, about 2.30pm, shes coming in over the bay and the pilot has promised to "leave the crowd amazed".

What a sight with the Navy ship in same shot.

Not suprised to hear this as the A380 is coming to the UK mainly for the "40yrs of Airbus" Family Day over the water here in North Wales..guess they might aswell get a bit of extra publicity while they're around.

I guarantee you'll be impressed, awesome aircraft...one of the most suprising things is just how quiet it is too considering it's size - fingers crossed for good weather !!

Some of my photos from the Airbus performing a double approach and go from Belfast City airport. Awesome to see.

The performance at Portrush was nice too, though it was over all too quickly. I'll post photos later.
