Hi. I will be 4 years in a Dept of Ed school at the end of this year. Am i automatically entitled to a CID? How does it work? Our no's are dropping every year and I fear this has something to do with it.

    Thanks:)

Depends on the contract. For example a teacher who has had a contract for 4 years doing 9 hours of business may get 9Hours CID. Not automatically entitled to 22hours.

Also your contract must be worded the EXACT same for the 4 years.

It all depends on the individual case.Have you spoken to your principal?

Hours will depend on how many you have in your 4th year at the school. You should be entitled to a CID once you hjad your own hours for each of the last 4 years. Maternity leave or subbing may not count. Just got my CID this year and my advice would be to speak to union rep or ring your union once you get contract for coming year. Or alternatively if you are on good terms with principal thay will help push it through.

Has to be the same contract for 4 years and your own hours. Nobody can be made cid in our school this year because of the cutbacks, this is despite retirements. Not a good time to be looking for cid.
