I'm just wondering if anyone else feels like this. One of my classes did extremely well. However the class I share with another teacher did awful. It is the first time the subject has been examined in our school and our first time to teach it-but i can't help feeling v disappointed. 11 out of 34 failed or were 'unsuccessful'. Its so de-motivating. I'm dreading goin back this week!:(:(

I wouldn't let it bother you too much...yet. If it was your first year, you could have just been unlucky with the batch of students you got. Maybe the exame was especially difficult. Maybe they, as students, just happened to comprise of underachievers. Don't blame yourself, or you'll end up undermining yourself. Instead, try your best and see how they do this year as well. Try and up your game, and hopefully you'll find this was just a bad year.

Well if it makes you feel any better I had a class of 11 this year. 3 failed because they insisted on taking higher level when they would have been just about able to get a pass in ordinary level and subsequently all 3 failed it. I also had another 2 who cheated in the exam and had their results with held. So that left me with 6. I'm not worried about it. Aside from the cheating I could have (unfortunately) predicted the fails

I wouldn't have any problem contacting the Chief Examiner for the subject and asking for suggestions. It's possible the kids made a bags of it, but it's also possible you or your colleague might be putting emphasis on the wrong things. Won't do any harm to ask their opinion.
