Just got word that there will be a Classic Car Sale at the National Show centre in Cloughran, Swords on October 18th.

The organiser had advised that they will provide space for Car Clubs outside and the sales will carry on inside. Should be a good event !

BTW I have no connection with this company, just heard it as I am a Club Official.

We are delighted to announce a new indoor venue for our Classic car sale/show event.

The event will take place at THE NATIONAL SHOW CENTRE(on the old Dublin road near Dublin Airport)on SUNDAY 18 OCTOBER 12pm

We have indoor space for 150 cars and some trade stands.Outside we will have a display area for visiting classic car clubs.

We will also have a special reserved parking area for people that arrive in classic cars but are not taking part in the sale/ show event.

We are now accepting bookings for this indoor event on a first come first served basis. You can reserve your space now knowing that if for any reason you do not make it to the event on the day you will recieve a full refund.

For further details or entry forms please contact Dermot Flynn on 01 6600622/mobile 086 2405542

Well it will be there anyway, along with €700's worth of fresh rubber! TBH was thinking of selling her but I won't get what I paid 2 years back for her due to the way classic values have dropped, never mind the bits and bobs I've done since. Also it has never given me a days trouble so I think that ads up to her being a keeper for now!

Will be there in my freshly serviced and recently rewired and list goes on and on of new parts in my `65 Mustang with a great big for sale sign on it.

I'm thinking about it, I really need to make an effort to sell my car. Does anyone know how much they charge?

I will be there, hoping to offer my 280SE Coupe, but as mentioned due to the fact i have spent quite a bit on it, I probably wont get my cost back.

I'll give it a whirl, assuming I have my back axle installed by then.

Should we do a Boards.ie meeting ? If we go as a "club" we can let them know in advance and allocate group parking.

When they say there is a car park for classic cars how do they know if its classic or not. I have a 1992 Celica...! :D

Would that mean being outside instead of inside?:)

There's be a pre-parking judging panel who will assess your car.

If you fail to qualify as "classic", your car will be cubed. :pac:

I just spoke to the organiser,Dermot Flynn as i am going to hopefully buy a car at this.He gave me the following information which may be of help.
The indoor arena is for "sale cars"only and 15 motoring trade stands.
There is also a sales area outdoors as inside is almost sold out.
Visiting classics and classic car clubs are outside on a manicured lawn in the "display area"
Classic car clubs are admitted free of charge to the display area and i'm told there are six booked in advance aswell as cars coming from the North.
Sorry,i never thought to ask about admission prices to the sales area.
Hopefully this answers some of your questions.

Was at this today, we had 14 or so cars from our club. Turnout of exhibitors or spectators wasn't great but it was a good show none the less. Still some dreamers out there but there were plenty of bargains to be had too.

Will get some pics up later......

This one was definitely a nice surprise to see, I have never seen one like this before.

Nice day, good show, some really interesting cars were on show. That black MB (6.3l v8) was priced at 70 000e :), I do not understand those two yellow small Fiats, Fiesta 89 or Saxo 99, why those cars where even there, but still a lot of great cars.

This was one great show.Well done to the organisers for going indoors.
Some amasing cars and general good vibe.
I tried to buy the '89 Fiesta but it was already sold.
    Really enjoyed the Venue
Only downside was the traffic trying to get out, took 20 mins.
Was told there was a crash on the main road and the Guards were there.
Other than that a great day out.

You mean the blue Fiesta on the right just as you entered the hall? Why?

None of my gang could understand what that car was even doing there - never mind the Saxo and Cinq's! The likes of the Z3 I can understand - future classic, but a ming blue '89 Fiesta? Zzzzzzzz!

What's even worse is the fact that somebody paid for it to be inside the arena expecting a sale! Over the last few years at Classic shows I've seen stuff turn up that you wouldn't have pi**ed on when on fire 10 years ago, e.g. '88 Corolla's and the like (and I'm not talking Twin Cam's either, them I can understand!) but a '99 Saxo? As Donnie Brasco said: 'Forget About It'!

I spoke to the English guy selling the TR7.He was looking for around €6500
It was sold before i got to him.I also looked at the 20 year old Fiesta at the door and a really nice beige Escort but they were also sold early in the day.
Seems like buyers got in early and bought any bargains that were there.
As usual i was far to slow.
I believe there is another sale in Kilkenny this weekend.I'll be first through the door.
