Anyone know if you accept a course today through cao and find you really didn't like the course and that you couldn't continue the course for four years, and you change your mind. Would you still be able to get the higher education grant next year, or this year even on a different course.

If you get it for first year of the first course, then you will not be able to get it for the first year of the second course this includes the fees.

I'm pretty sure there is a 'change of mind' option where you can get the grant the following year.

if you leave before 31st October and make sure you de register from college you should be OK for the next year for fees and prob grant also (might lose the proportion of grant you received this year). There are also rules around the level of programmes you leave and take up. Your best bet is to check with HEG/VEC (their websites have lots of info). Also remember the goverment could change the rules between this year and next. Already it looks like tuition fees will happen next year so you will have an extra year of fees.
