In the old days

Any of you have any past memories you'd like to share that you would refer to now as in the old days memories. Such things from your childhood or growing up that you might miss.

For me some things that come to mind are.
Watching Kenan and Kel- I don't know what it is but just recently I watched an old episode of Kenan and Kel and actually laughed my ass off at it. Some jokes were a little corny but they actually had some good material in that show. But it got me thinking about how much I used to love that show, so much that whenever Nickelodeon had those days when you call in to request what show you want to watch. I'd actually ring in, although I never got through to them.

The old Resident Evil video game. I remember when this first came how scary it seemed back then. Not to mention the cheesy intro video:D

The old childhood games like Hide and Seek and Chasing. God how I miss being as kid.

    I'll some more later maybe.

playing manhunt, kerbs, footy in the park (estate vs estate), running through the bonfire embers after halloween - and being involved in setting up the bonfire and running it on the night, it was the only time of the year that all our parents left something to us to be responsible for - insane!!! - wouldnt happen nowadays :D

    13p tayto

going to the cinema with IR£2 and having enough to get in having spent the remainder on 5 packets of A team crisps 2 dan bars and a 25p bottle of cheap cola.

    50p bag of chips

    50p can of coke

cycling around the estate using only the kerbs

    skateboarding

going on an adventure cross country (i.e. trespassing on farmers properties and getting chased by old men with shotguns!)

getting chased through ardgillan castle by the workers in a van as we cycled away from them!

    raiding orchards in gormo college

    playing army

    our bike gang!

    amstrad 464 with green screen

    commodore amiga

    the old yellow screen gameboys!

    knick knacks

(",) i got up to a lot of mischief with my gang of mates... but ill say one thing, we NEVER turned around and threatened an adult who came after us, we never damaged property, it was all (as we thought at the time) harmless fun looking to be chased.

you rolled with the punches and if you were dragged home to face the music, you owned up and accepted the consequences...

luckily my speed and agility meant that I almost never got caught lol.

Going on a boat trip around Dublin Bay when I was about 7 or 8 years old. My mum had packed a picnic and we drank a brand of orange drink that is now long gone out of production, 'Tree Top Orange'. I still remember the shape of the bottle, it was like large bottomed and went smaller to the neck but had a wide cup like cap.

I remember seeing also in the shops, a packet soup brand make called, Maggie Soups.

Going to the shops after school to buy a cool pop which I bought for a half a penny. I used to buy them in the shop in Rathmines which is also long gone, 'The Leinster Chalet'.

There was also a small tiny 50's style diner ( I cannot recall the name but it was something tropical ) it was near the now also long gone Banba, where my mum would buy me toy furniture for my dolls house.

I also remember reading my brothers annual books he would have. They were funny. He had one called 'The Hotspur Annual'. I still recall a character from that book, Zegemar British Master Spy!

I used to read comics when I was younger. My favourite being, Bunty, but I also like The Dandy, Whizzer and Chips, Mandy, Jackie, Judy, The Beano, and some other broadsheet style comic which I forget the name of.
I remember characters and titles like, The four Mary's, It's a dog's life called Inky, Little Mo.

Would they have been Maggi Soups? If so they're still available.
