Hi I need to get a laptop for my college course. I know what specs I need, but Im just looking for advice on stuff like which brand to go for etc,
I need a 512mb dedicated memory graphics card, at least 2Gb of memory preferably more and a fairly decent amount of memory but Im not too worried about this coz I could just get an external one anyway. Also being a student my budget is fairly limited about 500 euro.
    Thanks in advance.

What the hell? If he's doing design work then a "Dedicated" graphics card is exactly what he needs, perhaps you've mixed up integrated intel cards?
Anyway, let's get one thing straight, you need at least 2Gb of RAM, and want a large ish hard drive. But you're on a budget of 500. If you extend that to 600 you can get this Dell:

    Components

    PROCESSOR Intel® Pentium® Processor T4200 (2.0GHz, 800MHz, 1MB cache)
OPERATING SYSTEM Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium SP1 (64 BIT) - English
HARDWARE SUPPORT 1 Year Limited Warranty - Collect & Return
LCD 15.6in Widescreen High Definition (1366x768) WLED with TrueLife
    MEMORY 4096MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x2048]
HARD DRIVE 320GB (5.400rpm) SATA Hard Drive
GRAPHICS CARD 512MB ATI Mobility RADEON HD 4570
OPTICAL DRIVE Fixed Internal DVD+/-RW Slot Load Drive including Software
PRIMARY BATTERY Primary 6-cell 56 WHr Lithium Ion battery
WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY Dell Wireless 1397 Mini Card (802.11 b/g)
    BLUETOOTH No Bluetooth Upgrade
WEB CAM 2.0 Mega pixel Integrated Web Camera
    KEYBOARD Internal UK/Irish Qwerty Keyboard

Not the greatest of graphics cards, but it's alright. It's got 4Gb of RAM too. Seems like a good deal to me. There's going to be some compromise at this budget, and that would probably be the not so great processor, but it's not too bad either.

Here's the link (It's the studio 15 in that list):

Nice one, the budget is a bit flexable alright so might be able to strech to that.
