    1st Year Students

All new first year students who have applied through the CAO and accepted their offer for a place in Waterford Institute of Technology will be issued with registration details by post from WIT after the 27th August 2009.

First year students must register online from the 27th August. Information on how to do this will be set out with your registration details.

You must also attend the Institute for Registration Day(s) which will take place on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th September 2009. Details of the exact time and date when you MUST attend will be sent to you with the registration details.

    Further information is at http://www.wit.ie/registration/

    Just curious!

On the WIT website,it says students must either pay their fees or have proof/letter to show they are going to get student grants otherwise you would not be allowed to register for the session...now that would be quite disturbing as a lot of students have not got replies yet from the county councils on their grant applications.

Does anyone ( especially continuing students) have any experience regarding this.

You can get a letter from your county council/vec stating that you are in process of grant approval and the collage will register you temporarily or you can pay the registeration fee and when the grant comes through you will be reimbursed.

Thank you has put my mind at ease. But does anyone know if this is done as the norm or only on discretionary basis?

I'm it confused, if we are meant to go down on registration day to register and collect our WIT card, apparently it has our photo on it, so where do they get this?! Are they not taking the photos on registration day?

Your photograph is taken when you sign up for the card. Its all done in the business building, they will have the machines taking your picture and printing your card.

Are you postgraduate by any chance?...because it says on the website that undergraduates register on the 3rd /4th and postgraduates on the 7th.

I am still waiting for mine.
