I have a Karcher 4series and use Valet Pro PH Neutral plus a small squirt of Megs NXT shampoo. A tip I followed was to add the warm water to the bottle first, before the foam/shampoo - works a treat [about 1/2" snow foam is plenty BTW]

i use this method on all the cars i do it drags the heavy stuff of the car .rinsed after this then snow foamed again and i use to 2 bucket method one for rinsing the wash mitt and the other with some snow foam mixed in with water.

this wont strip any wax or sealant that has been put on the car in the past .
however a de-tar and clay bar is usually up next after this process its snow foamed again rinsed dried so no pre wax is on the car and its free from any contaminents and ready for a polish glaze wax and sealent ,

I got my one free from b&q when I was buying decking so i doubt it wa too expensive but it works brilliantly even on its own. Except the marks i mentioned earlier

you get a small bottle with a lot of the cheaper power washers it might work
but not as good as a litre bottle and brass attachment for your power washer ,
i use a karcher but i only have it a few months and using it to snow foam 3 times and rinse 3 times on 1 car takes its toll on it .especially doing a couple of cars a week.
plus it has a plastic motor .
unlike the nilfisk ones which have a longer life expectancy , that's going to be my next purchase because it has a metal motor,
if your looking to get a foam lance for either power washer check e bay and make sure the one your getting will fit .
they aren't universal so double check your fitment for your power washer.

get yourself up the north and get the nilfisk for £80 then the foam lance of e bay or

    maybe abit of petrol

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 162 ✭✭ChristyCent

Ive always heard that but was afraid it would do damage to the paintwork. I recently debadged my colt and heard petrol is a good way to remove the remaining glue do you think its a good idea?

use all purpose cleaner (APC) as its none to most folk into detailing.
APC should be used while the fist snow foam is dwelling , go around the car with some apc in a spray bottle and soft brush
spay into small crevice's door hinges door handles badges grills rubber seals around windows while the snow foam is dwelling on the car .

after de-badging your car buddy put some tar remover or apc on to that area with a micro.fibre cloth . dont use petrol
if its not wiped correctly it can stain your paint

    No worries :)
I could have posted a similar pic after 5 or so mins dwell but I though the first pic shows off the foam better.
Saw the pics of you engine bay in that thread alright, looked very well. Mine is not up to that standard yet ;)

    just be patient with it
alot of people just get the power washer out
and blast it into the engine bay which can cause trouble
