DIY UHF Antenna

I live pretty close to Mt Leinster so I can get the DTT tests with rabbit ears, or even just a stripped back piece of coax if it is positioned precisely (upstairs and downstairs). The stability of the signal was an issue with artefacts and skipping so I needed to upgrade my aerial.

Being a cheap arse and enjoying making something out of nothing, I made one of these. A "HDTV Antenna", i.e. UHF grid antenna.

It took the guts of an hour to make and cost nothing. (Obviously if you don't have the materials lying around it will cost something)

It works really well, and is sitting up in the attic giving me a very healthy signal, with no artefacts or dropouts.

    Nice one!

Probably works better than my old Wolsey colour king.
