    Hey All,

I'm looking for a pool table and was wondering what the non-slate beds are like. In particular, I've been looking at these two tables.

Initially we were going to go with a slate bed, but its for a house that my parents own in the country, so it won't get too much use, only when people are down there. Its also going to be going upstairs and I figured, not only would the slate bed be more expensive but also heavy to lift up, and heavy sitting on a floor upstairs.

Has anyone any comments on the non-slate bed tables, I know they are not as superior as the slate bed, but for the amount of use it would get and taking into account where it has to go, the non-slate seems to be our best option!

    Thanks

After having a slate bed pool table up stairs in my bedroom of my parents house some years ago it never was a problem as regards to support,I've since stored my own 7x4 slate bed table in the upstairs of my own house however I must admit it was a struggle to take that one up the stairs. As a personnel choice I'd go for a slate bed table, there is some great tables out there now been made with an MDF bed but some of these can cost as much so its really up to yourself.Buying from certain companys will also offer home assembly so the most awkward part is the slate itself and getting it upstairs.
