Surprised I haven't seen this mentioned here already (maybe I missed it?), but H of DME is hanging up his boots and retiring from gig promotion. A major blow for metal gigs here - DME were the driving force for most underground metal gigs for the last decade.

Just want to announce that WASP will be the last DME show. It's been on my mind for too long now and the decision needs to be made before anything is booked in beyond this year. Bottom line is I don't enjoy it at all anymore and one job is enough. I may not particularly enjoy my day job but it pays well, has good hours and doesn't create any of the stress that putting shows on does at times. I've really come to value my free time in the last few months and the idea of going back to spending days in venues, my evenings being taken up doing gig related work etc is just not appealing at all to me.

So there you have it. Just thought I may aswell announce it now so that people stop asking about this tour and that tour coming here. If they are, it won't be through me.

Needless to say, I love the music as much as I ever have so it's nothing to do with that side of it. I just enjoy being able to go see bands with a beer in hand way more than being on the other side of it these days.

Cheers, and let's hope Amon Amarth, Absu & WASP go well and finish things on a high.

    H.

That's a shame. Props to H for keeping it going for so long, seen some great bands thanks to him.

yeah, shame, but the guy deserves a rest after all the work he's put in the last 10 years - I can only imagine how much effort and trouble and crap etc.....he's put up with......
will be sadly missed, but there are some guys putting shows together so the scene is still there.....
