I brought an Xbox in a special flight case to Germany years ago as hand luggage. I was escorted to a room by armed police and they ran the machine through a special machine for detecting explosives. It was great fun altogether :(

They were paranoid because it was an unusual thing to bring onto a plane. Would it be possible to ship it with the rest of your stuff or are you just bringing your things on a plane ?

Should be no different than taking a laptop. Put it in a bag, take it out when you go through the scanner and put it in its own tray like you would with a laptop. If you don't take it out of the bag and put it in its own tray, then you'll probably be cavity searched! :p

If the lad askes, tell him you dont want to risk it being damaged. Its no different to bringing a laptop on board.

I've brought consoles through as hand luggage lots of times. You'll have to remove it from the bag to have it scanned separately, as you would a laptop, but it's no big deal.

Thanks for the advice. I'm bringing the rest of my stuff just as check-in bags so i can't really ship it. I hope they don't make a big deal about it

I brought my xbox and a laptop as hand luggage last easter. I was all set to answer any questions but the didn't look twice at the xbox. They did ask to see the underside of my laptop though

be bad for gamers if there was someone who put a bomb in a console,
newpaper make a fuss when someone breaks the law and then find out he played gta

I put a Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, Sega Game Gear and a Gameboy micro plus all controllers and cables in my hand luggage and they said nothing to me. Didnt even have to take it out of the bag. I'm sure you'll be fine

why not just put in into your luggage that you are checking in?

I have put my xbox in the case a good few times when travelling and had no problems......

Have you seen the way baggage handlers handle... baggage? There's no way my xbox would survive that.

they probably just find it suspicious but just treat it the same as a laptop!!!
