Help please - name spelt wrong when booking Ryanair flight!

A friend of mine booked Ryanair flights for the two of us to Spain, for two weeks time.

However she spelled my surname incorrectly when booking online. Basically it's a fairly long surname, and she left out the last letter of it.

Do I need to get this changed, and how much would it cost? What are my chances if I leave it as it is, are they likely to notice at the airport and stop me from getting on the plane?

    Thanks!

I'd say there is a slim slim chance they will notice but as long as the name on the ticket and the passport are very similar you'll be ok.

HAd the very same issue with Flybe, I just rang them up and said there was a spelling error, they were fine about it... give scumair and ring and see what they say?

You have to remember Ryanair/Service Air Staff only have a few seconds to scan your boarding pass and passport as they have to go through at least 100 - 150 people's that are boarding the plane also so if its not that noticable I'd leave it.

Can you give us the two variations so we could advise better?

It's Miskella, and it's spelled Miskell on the boarding pass.

Personally I'd say u'll be fine but you could ring up Ryainair if you want peace of mind and see what they suggest.....something says they could ask for you to pay to change but I could be wrong.

You could be okay if it is one of the boarding passes that you print off yourself and hand in at the gate (Check N'Go).

If you get Ryanair to change it I reckon they'll charge you. Did you check the website because they charge for passenger changes but not too sure on names, but Ryanair is Ryanair :D

Happened to me a few months back flying to Edinburgh, I just rang them and told them it was a spelling error and they changed it with no hassle...the girl said that the change name fee only applies when you change the actual name and not for a spelling error, she said it was fairly common when booking on line...

Best to ring them now than try ing to explain it to some stressed out check in person or flight attendant...the number is on the site...

Yep I got a letter wrong and rang them and they changed it with no charge.

Or what I did once was just write the name as it should be spelt in the Ryanair font and then stuck the name over the wrong name on the boarding pass and photocopied it. The photocopied one looked fine and as it was only one letter out I got away with it.

Am a lot more careful these days about name spelling.

got this thread off a google search a while back when I spelled my first name wrong (Davdi instead of David) and decided to chance my arm, nobody noticed it or else they just didn't say anything.
