    Depends. Are you attending any classes at all - what is the status of your external repeat - will you get a student card?

    Im a second year commerce student at NUIG. I'm repeating Management Accounting externally so I wont be attending lectures (meaning I'd be available for full-time work) but as far as I know I will still get a student card, which is needed for sitting the exam

    IMHO I think you may not qualify (but I could be wrong). If you complete this exam will you be liable for any fees next year? If so, the you might qualify, if not - then you will be considered still part of the Free Fees Scheme.

    Your best bet is to contact a CiC - Citizens Information Centre - they know this stuff inside out. They will be able to give you a definitive answer - in my experience CiC know more about welfare regulations than the Dept. of social welfare.
