Just wondering if anyone knows where I could buy a Taize type prayer stool in Dublin, I've checked in both Veritas and Cathedral Books but neither stock them.

I know they're all over religious communities and churches that have occasional Taize services but is there anywhere I can buy one for home use.

Thanks in advance for any info.

You can buy them online for about 50 quid from Kevin Mayhew in the UK: http://www.kevinmayhew.com/Shop/Products/69578/Church_Supplies/Furniture/Prayer_Desks_Stools/Prayer_Stool.aspx

Sorry, I don't know of anywhere more local.

Thanks PDN, might follow the designs and make one if it's gonna cost so much when you add postage. Strange that nobody in Ireland sells them, ah sure.

Just curious, why a prayer "stool"? What wrong with a chair? I can understand using a prie Dieu alright.

    God bless,
    Noel.

Happy enough using a chair at the mo but just wanted the option and alternate body position.

I find either a chair, floor or in the past a prayer stool useful for losing the awareness of the body while sitting in the presence of God. Don't generally find the Prie Dieu helpful in this regard, just personal preference I suppose.

    Hope things are good.

I will make you one. My friend and I intend to go into partnership making them. He is a protestant and I am a catholic. So our company will have an ecunemical ethos like that of Taize.

    Please call <snip> to order.
